A couple of developments from this week: 1)Andy and I figured out that he can rent car for me to drive, which means no buying a car for me, yay 2)Christie and I are putting on a game day after church on Sunday. I had lunch with her and her boyfriend and Christopher (so cute!) on Thursday and we talked it over. It sort-of all hinged on whether or not I could rent a car, so that's why it's short notice. Plus, I won't be here the next two weeks. I put up flyers for it on Thursday. But, apparently THE way for us to get kids to come is to go to the housing areas and just pick kids up. Christie and I will go pick kids up after the service (I'm going to make her come with me, since I don't know any kids) and then we'll do games at about 1:00. We're going to go on rain or shin
e, so here's what I am tentatively planning to have: frisbee, volleyball (we can use things we find around the yard for a net--trust me), maybe soccer, hopefully twister, maybe one other board game, and some 4th of July themed craft for inside. Plus something cold to drink. This event is pretty important: As you might have gathered, no one (except God) has a clear cut plan for what needs to be done or will work here (least of all Tunkasila). So this event is sort-of a trial. Whether or not it is successful will help to figure out what our next step is.
It was really great to hang out with Christie Thurday. I like chatting and getting her perspective on things. And it was exciting to finally meet Christopher.
Wanna henakca--That's about all for now.
